BRO J X CLAN
Brother J (born Jason Hunter) is the "Grand Verbalizer" and founding MC of the Afrocentric hip-hop group X-Clan. He is known for his deep voice, revolutionary spirit, and for using his platform to promote Black culture, fight systemic oppression, and encourage self-knowledge and pride. X-Clan's music combined funk and spoken word, and their 1990 debut, To the East, Blackwards, is considered a classic of conscious hip-hop and a cornerstone of the Black Nationalism movement.
